Koschei's Initiative was reduced to1 by the previous Power Maul hit, so he was slaughtered before he could even fight. The remaining Bloodletters put up a good fight before they were taken out. My Daemonettes then teleported in with the hopes of rushing the weakened Assault Squad. Then I remembered that units that just entered via Deepstrike can't move. Then I tried to bring in Patient Zero and his large block of Plaguebearers... only to have them scatter into the Assault Marines. A "1" on the Deepstrike Mishap table meant my General and my most expensive unit died before they even reached the table. That was nearly a quarter of my points right there!
Things looked even more grim for me when Steiner and his Terminators appeared in front of the Horrors. There was some brutal shooting from both sides (Warpfire & Daemonic Gaze for me, Assault Cannon & Storm Bolters for Justin) while Chaplain Tristan charged the Daemonettes. Slaanesh's Handmaidens made short work of the Assault Marines. Then Steiner called down an Orbital Bombardment and took out about half of my remaining Tzeentch Horrors. It should be noted that in all previous games I've played against Justin, his orbital bombardments have either scattered off the table or hit unoccupied terrain.
The Daemonettes moved to help secure the objective while the Horrors and Tzeentch Herald continued to use Daemonic ranged attacks to whittle down the Terminators. The Herald was even able to use his own Breath of Chaos to take out some of the nigh-invulnerable elite Marines.
Steiner threw himself into the Tzeentch Horrors, weathering the storm of Warp Fire but losing a wound from the Herald's Breath of Chaos. Steiner challenged Little Fateweaver to single combat and the Herald accepted. This was a wise move for Justin, as it essentially removed all the other Horrors from participating in the fight. Miraculously, Little Fateweaver actually wounded the Chapter Master and passed several Invulnerable saves against a power fist!
On the other side of the table, the Flamers had been slowly wearing down the Predator while occasionally taking casualties from lascannons. The Predator was reduced to one Hull Point by game's end.
Little Fateweaver's luck finally ran out. This left Steiner locked in combat with Horrors while the Daemonettes had secured the objective and the Flamers were poised to take out the Predator (Justin's only other model left on the table). Time had run out; a roll of the dice had declared the game to be over.
